Sitting and Staring

So, it has been an interesting turn of events lately. We had planned our tax check to go to several much needed things, a van for me, lot rent paid for the year and fix my hubby's car and do maintenance to the durango. What happened to these plans? Lets just say what didn't happen. My husband did a stupid thing a couple years ago, and due to it he got sued and well, he lost to and it's a 500k case. Yeah, like we will ever see that type of money! So what happens, court on tuesday to try to get our tax money. Well, luckily my mom works at a law firm which equals knowledgeable lawyers. One of them dug around and got me a paper stating that I have rights to half of the check. While that still ticks me off, half is better than nothing! The lawyer said she would get back to us on whether she is going to go with this or let it go to court in May. Still waiting..... Meanwhile, I have a almost $8k check sitting on my counter staring me in the face, which I would love nothing more than to cash the check and run! But, my hubby wont let me LOL. So, we are waiting to hear what the lawyer is going to decide meanwhile, I have to pay $220 a month childcare and lot rent is $220 which we were going to pay out of the tax check for the year. That's how we make it year to year. But, we cant do that and it is due the 1st of March. So, as of right now if we dont hear anything in the next 2 weeks, I will have to drop out of school to cover the hit of the lot rent. Sad, but my family comes first. Hubby is refusing me to do that saying he will work another job, but why put my family in turmoil at my expense? It just doesn't make sense to do that. So, we are just waiting. Atleast the positive thing is I'm growing a little bean inside me that keeps me well grounded and sane because I know no matter what challenges we face in life, money doesn't complete us, it sure helps, lol. So pray for this lawyer to have a heart, and soon!
